Stephenson’s Rocket Locomotive – Own A Piece of History
Originally build in 1829 in Newcastle for the Rainhill Trials and it was one of the most advanced trains in the world at it’s time.
It was not, as many people thing the first steam train, but it was the first of it’s kind using a multi-tubular boiler which increased the capacity of steam being moved around making it much more efficient.
The Rocket was made even more famous, when at the opening ceremony of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway on 15th September 1830, William Huskisson was hit by the train and killed.
Huskisson whilst not the first person to die by train, was certainly one of the most famous.
Now you can get a chance to own this historic train.
This is an incredible quality locomotive, 1/24th scale and not the normal plastic model that you often see advertised. This is made in cast metal and wood and is very intricate in detail.
